PUNJAB MERGES STATE NARCOTICS CONTROL BUREAU WITH STF
Chandigarh, September 13:
With the view to augment and strengthen Special task Force (STF) and to increase its resources for enforcement of anti drug abuse measures, Punjab Government has decided that STF will work as independent and autonomous vertical of department of Police on the lines of state Intelligence Wing.
Disclosing this, an official spokesperson said the State Home Department on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister, has issued a notification for making STF an independent force and to amalgamate Punjab State Narcotics Control Bureau with STF to eradicate drug menace and illicit trafficking from the state.
It is also mentioned here that Mohammad Mustafa has already been posted as DGP STF in place of ADGP Harpreet Sidhu who has been posted as Special Principal Secretary to CM Punjab.
